My grandfather had a bike - My father had a bike - I have a bike

I was at high school in the early 90s - there were about 30 guys who rode to school on bikes - my son goes to the same high school and I see 3 bikes there ... 2 of which are scooters

Not one of the fathers of my son's friends have bikes

How do youngsters get exposed to bikes if their dads don't have bikes ? There are very few new young riders coming into the market

I am talking about leisure bikes ... not chemist cowboy chinese delivery bikes that have spread like a plague throughout SA ... because those bikes do not keep the market alive ... the riders thereof are barely surviving financially and don't spend money on gear and other bike stuff
