The planning has started for the next epic African Adventure departing around 25 June 2014 for 6 OR 7 weeks.
The prelim route is currently this far:
PE to Kimberley to Vryburg to Bots border
Then either left up past the delta to Caprivi, Katimo Mulilo and into Zambia
OR
Right along whatever the best route would be to Kasane and into Zambia
M10 north along the Zambezi with some stop-overs at connections with lodges
M10 north to Mongo Canal - see King's seasonal palaces - Koromboko
M9 East to Kaimbwe Pan
M8 North to Wamami Dam, with possible detour on T5 to Kallena Air Strip and back
M8 East to Chingola with detour to Kafue River
T3 to Kitwe with possible gravel deviation along DRC Border to Ndola
T3 to T2 turn left to Ninalesa Hills to Lake Lusiwasi,
then gravel RD733 to D235 for some exploration up to Samya on Lake Bengweulu and back to T2 (Great North)
OR
just continue on the Great North to Tanzania
REST (with more details) TO FOLLOW SOON.
Anyone with any suggestions on routes to avoid, or things you must see, please let me know.
