Katse Dam - 04th April

Howdy guys.
A couple of friends and I are riding down to Fouriesburg on Friday 03rd April. I have booked a farm lodge for the weekend and we intend to visit Katse Dam on Saturday. Question is how are the tar roads from Fouriesburg to Katse? (Please don't snigger at the question) 3 of the guys have road going sports tourers, can a decent day ride be made from Fouriesburg to Katse and back, and are passports required? Please advise.
