Kawa KLR 650

Hi Guys

Not sure if someone would be able to assist me.
Just want to find out if the below bike would be a good purchase.

Kawasaki 2008 KLR 650 with 8500 km on for R 39000
I Have heard from someone that these bikes gives issues with oil usage, was this perhaps for a earlier model ???
