Hi guys. I am in the market for a klr and would like to find out a few things. I will be getting finace so would need to work through a dealer or buy from a dealer. If any body knows of anything or any good deals please let me know.
Now to get to the point. What are the things to look out for and on what models? I know about the doohickey but thats something you will only be able to check once you oper her up(that sound slightly wrong). I know some models are prone to oil use( some say its the silver frame and that the green ones are faster, all I know its call the KLR). Low mileage is not a problem but as I am still young and the only way I am parting with the bike is if its ripped from my cold dead hands, the lower the kilo the better. I would also like crash bars because this would be my first proper bike and a dream come true, if I had to drop it I will most probably fall into depression( ok its not really that bad but you get my point ).
Some how I feel I didn't made my point. The short and long of it is, I need a reliable good value for money deal and I need to know how to spot one. If that makes any sense. As always, any and all help would be appreciated.
I will add a link to one I saw on gumtree just as a reference. To me that looks like a good deal but to be honest, I have been fantasising about a KLR for so long that anything looks like a good deal.
