KLR - oil sieve interpretation - something failed somewhere

I have just taken out my oil sieve and found a lot more than I bargained for, a whole lot of what seems to be plastic bits, and a destroyed o-ring, then the usual bits of gasket waste.

Can anyone give me an idea of where this may have come from or where I should look?
