Did a trip in December 2011 - 2500km's in total - my KLR used 2L of oil on this trip! I was riding solo with a top box and side touring bags and did not exceed 110kmh as I did not want to strain the bike. I used Bell ray Thumper oil when I did my oil and filter change (1000km before the trip) and I also topped up with this oil while on the trip.
I am really concerned about this oil usage - so much so that I am actually thinking of selling the bike as DNA's only response was that they will have to open her up to see what is wrong.
The bike has 28000km on the clock, is a 2009 model and has a full service record - so it has been well looked after - does anyone have any advise/ideas?
