Firstly, by introduction I am new to the forum and the fun that is adventure riding. However, I have been on superbikes for most of my two-wheeled life. I currently don't have a bike but am seriously considering the two in the subject line. If I am completely honest, I am leaning towards the KTM (hence the post in this group).
My question is, when you were deciding between the adventure bike you were going to buy what were your deciding factors? From a running cost, a number of people have been telling me that KTM is more expensive to service than BMW but I can't seem to find information on that. If anyone is willing to share what their costs have been in maintaining their KTM, I would greatly appreciate it.
I am able to get both bikes for approximately R250k with more or less the same spec (obviously a healthy list of extras). So upfront cost isn't the deciding factor.
