LANE SPLITTING

I was just wanting some opinions on lane splitting. I have been riding various motorcycles for the last 40 years, mainly off road but a reasonable amount of on road. I have been riding in Cape Town traffic for the last 4 months after having spent most of the last 20 years in Maun and then Knysna. I ride cautiously in traffic and try to keep my speed differential down to less than 20Km/h when riding between lanes. I have noticed a number of riders who ride at double the speed of traffic and show irritation at riders taking a more sedentary ride between the lanes.
