Hi, I'm in the process of rebuilding my FT500) same motor as the XR. I have just put in New valve stem seals and lapped the valves (my first time ever). I wanted to test it for leaks so I have poured paraffin in the exhaust port and stood the head up with the port facing up wards. There was only slight damp around the valves after 10 mins.
I did the same for the inlet valves, but after 10 mins a drop of paraffin had formed. I left it over night, and maybe a couple mls leaked out, not much. Is this a concern? Should I 're lap the valves? I don't want to lap them too much. Will any seating take place during running in? Any advice appreciated.
Thanks
