So I recently bought a Garmin Legen CX from a WD. The unit belonged to his wife's brother-in-law and he was not using it anymore. Price was very reasonable as the unit had no maps, no cables, no mounts and the clip at the back of the cover was not with it. Deal was appealing since I already have a Legend CX which had it's best days. Problem! I cannot use my existing mapset with the "new" unit since it was not registered with Garmin / Avnic SA. The brother-in-law apparently also bought it 2nd hand. Mmmm :3some: Now I am told I have to buy a license for R 1 000 in order to be able to unlock maps for the unit. Is this my only option? Plse help.
