Ok...I got a shock of my life.
I own a KLR650 2008 model. Bought it for R42.5K with 3000km in 2010.
Between Dec'11 and Nov'12 I did 20 000km (@6000km/service = 3 std services)
My maintenace costs (incl. Std service+Tyres+Oil+Bulbs+Coolant e.t.c) were R13 754.96! (I kept every single receipt)
to those who understand cost justifications and all such things, does it make financial sense to own a "asset" whose maintenance costs more than its rate of depreciation? [(42.5/5yrs) vs 13.7)
All this said, I wont be able to live without a bike. Is there a bike with better financials?
Anyone with similar facts around their bike?
