We'll be hosting a newby ride on the 12th of September. Meeting point is at the Engen garage, cnr of Solomon Malhangu (Hans Strydom) and Lynnwood: -25.778688, 28.345410
Meeting time is 8 for 8:30 and leaving at 9 o'clock sharp.
The ride will be around 200kms of which roughly half will be dirt with some easy twee spoor thrown into the mix. The route will be devided into two sections. The first will be very easy gravel leading us to Que Sera where we'll stop for cold drinks/beers/smoke/brunch. The second part of the route will have a bit of twee spoor, maybe some tiny patches of sand and it will be mostly gravel. Our final stop will be Rafters Pub and Grill on Garsfontein road. We will never venture further than 30kms or so from Pretoria east and we'll stay close to tar in case someone needs to bail out.
The pace will be as slow or fast as it needs to be and there will be more than enough experienced riders tasked with assisting the newer guys, plus a sweeper making sure everyone is OK. If you don't have tools or tubes, don't stress, we'll carry some spares and repair kits. We will also have a 4x4 with trailer on standby in case it's needed. Full protective kit is recommended but not required.
