In the light of the current exchange rates and economic environment I think tyre prices will climb sharply within the next 6-12months. So I got a set of tyres from a well known bike shop in Cape Town, but I will only fit the tyres towards the end of the year, if I take the tyres back they will fit it for free. Great service.

A relative picked up the tyres last week. Today I got the tyres from his house.

Long story short. The date on the front tyre shows 4618. Meaning that is was manufactured in the 46th week of 2018. Already 4.5years old. It will be 5 years old when I fit it on my Africa Twin and then drive it for another 10 000km (1-2years) so it will be seven years old by the time I am done with it. Will this be fine? Mitas E10 front tyre. The back tyre is fine, manufactured in 2021.

Should I ask them to exchange the front for a "newer" one?
