Hey,
I am dabbling in getting into adventure biking and am in the process of learning how to ride on a mates bike.
My question to those in the know.
Am I better off spending R40-50k on a 650gs or rather save up and spend R70-R80k on a naaaice F800 GS
> I have never ridden bikes before
> Find myself living in the Parys area and it a sin not to be using these awesome roads around me for my winter sport. (I kayak a lot in summer and have been mtbiking for sometime in winter)
> I had a blast with my buddies the other day riding the "Crater Cruise"
> Could see myself looking at an occasional trip to say Clarens or Dullstroom via dirt roads
> Wouldnt mind having the option to commute into work (Vaal triangle) or JHB on occasion for a change
> My significant other might enjoy biking, however she isnt the type who would be satisfied riding pillion (Maybe just in the beginning) ultimately she would probably get a bike of her own
> At this stage I would say 30% tar 70% dirt
My thoughts :
I could buy two 650 bikes for the price of a 800
So much of confusion, but this is the fun no??
