I normally got the fancy Nikwax tech wash from Cape Union Mart and the likes and washed my riding gear with it whenever the gear was extremely dirty, normally ±once a year.
I found almost zero extra protection from Nikwax. So last year I tried the spray that I use on my W2 Suede boots, and sprayed my riding gear with the same product. Much better result, it repels water and dirt much easier. One year later and I am going to wash my riding gear again with normal OMO washing powder, rinse and then spray with the Kiwi product again. Got it at Checkers for ±R50.00
