While standing at the traffic light this morning I almost suffocated from oil smoke. Gasping for air I looked at the tjor next to me to see what the heck is causing the smoke...only to realise it's from my bike!

The smoke quickly stopped after I pulled away and on closer inspection at work I see some clean oil on the spring and swing-arm. Two questions:

1) It's most likely a seal or something in the shock?
2) I have most of the mechanics of the bike figured out, but haven't fiddled with suspension things yet. Is it advisable to attempt this with basic/moderate mechanical skill? Had a quick look in the 950 site but couldn't see anything there.
