Hi, my wife and I are planning a trip to Port St John’s soon and would like some advice on the route and roads to take. We will stay on tar all the way. Can someone please tell me what is the conditions of the following roads and what to look out for. I would also like to get some advice as to which is better, N3 Harrismith via Kokstad to Port St John's or Bloemfontein via Aliwal Noord (taking scenary, conditions, hazards into consideration) to Port st John's.
1. From N3 on the R617 through Boston, Bulwer, Underberg, Swartberg, Kokstad, Flagstaff and Lusikisiki
2. From Bloem to N6 Reddersburg, Smithfield, Rouxville Aliwal Noord
3. From Aliwal Noord R58 Lady Grey, Barkley East, Elliot, Ngobo, Mthatha.
4. Also The R61 from Port St Johns to Port Alfred
