Sani in December Advice

Hello forumites

I'm toying with doing Sani in mid December. If there is a lot of rain would it make the ride much more dangerous?
I suppose my concern is, would the surface be slippery from clay conditions?
Lastly, is the ride up and down doable in one day? (Assuming I stay somewhere close to the start of course)

Any input much appreciated.
