I've just fitted a new Acerbis tank to my Suzuki DR650. The problem is that the tank is leaking around the outlet fuel suuply tap. The fuel supply tap came supplied with an O-ring seal (which appears to me to be a little small) which is fitted, but is clearly not working. I'm hesitant to use a sealant without knowing if it is compatible with the petrol (ie I have a tube of general purpose bathroom silicone sealant lying around).
Can any of you recommend how I should go about sealing the outlet valve to the tank (also worried that the seal may work at first but then be destroyed by the petrol and start leaking when I'm on the road). I need a permanent solution.
