QUESTION: Is it possible to do the Sikaflex sealing of spokes etc, then fit a conventional tube but with an airtight valve? (effectively two valves would then be fitted, one a tubeless, one conventional)
The idea being to run with a tube as normal. Then when a puncture situation arises, the Sikaflex sealing would allow for the air to be retained in the rim, or alternatievely a speedy repair being possible.
My feeling is that it could work, IF a proper seal could be achieved at the conventional valve/ rim interface.
(However, coming to think of it, if a puncture situation arose, one could always just push the protruding valve in, then simply seal the opening with some sort of rubber stopper, as found on a tubeless valve).
