Snorkel modification?

Hi guys, I recently bought a HP2 and it seems that the original snorkel is very low and very exposed to dust and water.
I saw that there is a possibility of modifying the snorkel with some kind of pipe that it suck much higher(behind the computer)
I was wondering if anyone made this modification or something similar, it would be nice to compare different options before I start to cut and play with the original snorkel...
