Solo Eastern Cape trip

Will it be a wise decision to do a solo trip through the Eastern Cape on the way to Richards bay just after xmas? wanting to do long way there, to be there for new years. and then back the shortest (non tar as far as i can) route. probably planning on 3-4 days there, and 2-3 days back.
any suggestions or recommendations?
