Can anyone give advice.... Wild dog traffic cops?

Bought a 2009 KLR and only got the bike registered on my name around 18 March. I've just received a fine in the post for an offence on the 28 March for speeding in PMB! The funny thing is that the number plate is on a car (photo taken at night in PMB) but its actually my number plate issued for my bike....? I only had my new number plate made yesterday for my bike and i haven't even ridden it yet as I've been working on the bike and its been sitting in my garage in Pinetown.

Either the stupid road traffic office cant read the digits properly or haven't realized that the number plate belongs to a KLR650 or some twatwaffle has already cloned my number plate and is using it on a car? What do i do here, Ignore, await a summons, or waste my time at the traffic office...?
