Hi Dogs,
I have a dodgy left ankle which prevents me from getting my foot under the gear lever if I wear Adventure boots. I want to do some offroad riding so wearing boots is not negotiable so I'm trying to think of a solution. I have a quick shift and ride the bike with ordinary shoes sometimes so just moving the gear lever up on the splines won't work.
I hit upon the idea of buying an old gear lever and building a step into it to raise the height of the end part under which your foot fits. I thought of doing this by welding an extra L-shaped piece into the lever, raising the end bit. Any ideas better than that and any idea where I could buy an old gear shift?
Thanks.
