There has been a bit of discussion about the fact that the Africa Twin's tank capacity may be a little bit smaller than ideal. In my opinion another 2 litres would have given you a range (at respectable speeds) of about 400km.
For the last two days I have been riding mine with the fuel warning light on. When I left for the office on Friday I had 1.3 litres and about 28 KM range. The office is about 19 Km. Just before William Nichol the bike starts to splutter (after about 10km) and I head for the off ramp. On the off ramp my 1 litre remaining suddenly goes to --- as does the estimated range. I get to the BP and fill up with 19.042 litres, the most I have ever put in the bike.
I think the specs say its 18.7, but you can normally fit a bit more than the specs say. Any owners who have filled from empty, and how much did you put in?
