I am undertaking a trip of a lifetime, along with a few good friends. Maybe some of you guys would like to join us.
Details are as follows:
Depart on the 8th of August @ 6:00 AM from the Petro Port on the N1 (Pietersburg Highway). Go via Victoria Falls up to Dar Es Salaam come back via Lake Malawi, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. (Route is 99% tarmac)
Cost for trip is ± R30 000-00 as all will be sleeping in their tents at camp sites. But Bungalow accommodation is also available. Each person (Rider & Pillion) is responsible for his / her own fuel, accommodation and food.
No contribution towards any organising. PAY AS YOU GO!!!
What one requires should anyone wish to join me on this trip:
1. Passport – VALID for at least 6 months.
2. VISA for Tanzania ( R460).
3. Registration papers of bike.
4. Letter from the Bank to take bike across borders if it is financed.
5. Letter from your insurance that your bike is covered in RSA, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Mozambique and Malawi for theft & accident.
6. Notify your Medical Aid and make sure you are covered for emergencies i.e. Air Lift.
7. New tyres prior to departure.
I plan to have a meeting on the 8th of July to finalize the route and any other outstanding issues.
