Teach me: 4T and 2T

So i understand the basic difference between a two stroke and a four stroke engine, well i think i do.

but i don't understand why a two storke engine is so much more powerful than a four stroke?

the only thing i can think is that two strokes allow for full revolutions to be completed faster than a four stroke, but then the engine would just rev higher?
