We decided to join this ride:

https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=101759.0

9am, no soul in sight, check forum and discovered that Wortel had a flat! And so did his bike.

Well, let's go and see what Du Vlei looks like.

Roadworks

No problem

Grim looking road and day ...  At least the road will be fixed one of these years.

and the day can also only get better.

Looking better already

Green everywhere

Taking the road from Durbanville to Wellington

Saw many bikers just outside Wellington, but our destination is Hermon.

We're not mad to be out on the road, or we're not the only mad ones!

What is looming?

This doesn't look good.

This isn't good

We decided to turn around and join the others in Wellington, when about 20 bikes passed us in the direction of Hermon and the mist. Good luck!

Back into some sunshine.

Place on right were we saw the others bikers

As we turned in, they were leaving. also in the direction of the mist.

We had the best "wildspastei" and nice hot coffee.

I am not satisfied with the amount of time in the saddle and decided to take a little detour back home.
Turned off on road past Landbouskool.

Turns into a lovely morning

Good morning!

Nice to be on the road

Left turn to Klipheuwel, can't go without some gravel.

Ready, steady ...

Go

Road in excellent condition, no dust after rains.

This is almost not a dirt road, solid as a rock.

No words necessary!

Who is better off - debatable

Why must this end?

Alone or with other riders, nothing like being out on the road.
Maybe next time I will meet Wortel and ride with him!

Thanks to my wife for braving the weather with me, turned out to be a beautiful day.
