Grey Hound
I feel like if there was a Darwin award for bikers, I would've won it, hands down, no pun intended...
I recently dropped my very new 1190R while reversing out of the garage / driveway.
It happened because I was waving goodbye to my wife and as I was freewheeling backwards, I was so focused on my wave, I did not think what would happen when I hit the paving which is at quite at angle to the garage floor exit.
Long story short, I did a one handed tank slapper on reverse and the brand new 200kg+ bike fell on me.
My wife had to help lift it off me. (Luckily the tank was near empty, so I didn't have the addition 20kg of weight inside)
She screamed: "Are you okay?"
I answered, "Don't worry about me, how does the bike look, anything get scratched?"
I suffered a few scratches on the crashbars, and the exhaust cover. (And a seriously bruised ego)
Had it not been for my pannier frames, I think my whole exhaust would've been stuffed.
Thank you SW Motech for your well engineered pannier frames.
Funny but embarrassing story!
Doh!
