Without sounding like Captain Slow, I need the help of the forum :thumleft:
So its only 'bout 4 months till I can officially upgrade to me "big bike"
So I want to do my research properly, because this is going to be a big decision!
The minister of finance gave the thumbs up for anything up to 660cc's, which is fine by me, I don't want anything bigger.
Here is the criteria that the possible bike has to adhere to, most of you know me, and my riding style.
It has to be able to sit comfortably at 120kmph
Be able to do at least 500km in one day
It must be a light-ish bike, I'm kinda small
I also like to do the Weekend Warrior thing, sand, railways, technical,so it also has to:
Be good at sand riding(have a long swingarm)
I also like catching airtime, so good suspension is a must
Be able to eat up technical terrain
It will also be my commuting bike, so it will be used daily
The possible candidates that I know off:
Once I have the candidates I will take all of them for a ride to be sure
KTM LC4 640 ADV:
I absolutely love this bike, I'm a big fan off the orange brand
How is the fuel consumption on this bike, also I'M slightly concerned about the weight?
KTM LC4 640 Enduro
Same 5 speed engine, but more a type off bike which you "sit on" rather than "sit in"
HONDA XR650R
Light and nimble, no happy button doesn't bother me.
But it is a bit err plastic ish?
Yamaha XT660R
Think its the heaviest of the bunch, also quite big
Having ridin one before, i feel very comfortable on it
KTM 525 exc
Full on enduro bike, but can it handle distance?
Also its a race machine, so engine rebuilds?
DRZ 400
Also an enduro bike, but can be made very DS-ing
Once I have the candidates, I will test ride all off them :ricky:
So let the search begin! :thumleft:
