The daily 15km commute to work started last Monday by losing the front end on a white line, on a wet road... Scooter ended up sliding one way and me bellyflopping the other, watching the front brake lever snapping off. Some scratches, a stiff and sore body and a new brake lever later, I wondered what happened, why lose the front end. Front tire tread is still ok, rear needs replacement though. Noticed that the front tire has some "feathering". Some questions before I replace the tires.

1. What is the main cause of tire feathering? (Will check pressures with decent gauge).

2. Any recommendations on scooter tires?

Did some homework and Michelin Bopper https://moto.michelin.fr/tyre-selector#s=2  looks like a good choice, but they are being phased out. Michelin City Grip  https://moto.michelin.fr/tyre-selector#s=2&f=27674  seems to be the replacement for the Bopper. The City Grip is the only one rated for wet roads. Rumor has it that it is a dual compound as-well.

Will post some pics of the front tire later.
