Trip from Cape Town to upington and then back

I want to do a trip in October to Upington from Cape Town and then back via I don’t know. 

I need to keep it all tar as I will be alone worried to drive alone on gravel.

Need advice on what route to take, would like nice scenic routes, places to stay and yes camping as well and then route coming back.

I have +/- 9 days to do this.
