Our plans were in place and after a nice breakfast with our regular riding buddies, who were not so lucky to have the rest of the day “free”, we continued from Riebeeck West on dirt towards Porterville.
Once at Porteville we phoned home and stated diplomatically that the trip was going to take way longer than anticipated so we got permission from the SWAMBOS to be absent for the entire Sunday if we wish to do so, that is my neighbour and me. (SWAMBO – She Who Always Must Be Obeyed) :mwink:
After refuelling we aimed for Dasklippas for a few nice whoops and scenery from the top.
We were entertained by these dudes and their activities and decided that two wheels on mother earth are better then nothing at all, so we left for the nice stretch of gravel to Eendekuil.
The Jap even talked back when we stopped for refreshments.
From Endekuil we continued to Het Kruis and eventually got onto the road to Redelinghuys. We then turned left to Kapteinskloof and discovered that the road is in excellent condition as opposed to the previous time I rode it.
There were only time left for one stop and we decided on the old steel bridge over the Bergrivier so we continued to Piketberg and took the gravel to Die Brug.
On our way to the N7 the Jap got a little lost and navigated to the shoulder of the road but luckily no serious damage or injuries were sustained.
All that was left was to hit the N7 with throttles three-quarter open for a good time home at 17:45 and after 420km.
Two happy friends and neighbours, Trunkenpolz and the Jap.
