V-Strom 1000

Good day guys. I need some info please. What is the general consensus on this bike? I want to upgrade from my GS650 but currently have other fianancial obligations so I'm looking at an older model V-Strom 1000 DL. I don't do off road riding. How available and or expensive is parts for it? Service costs? Any other issues you are ware of? Is it suitable for riding pillion?

Or should I rather keep looking for a low km's GS1200 like one of my friends keeps suggesting.
