After having spent the last 25 years of my life on road bikes I have decided to branch off in a new direction and have bought my first big tralie - 1200GS - with all the extras (well, the official BMW extras anyway) I see Touratech makes the Harley add-on cataloge look small and insignificant by comparison.

I have also purchased a Zumo 500 GPS unit which I should be collecting tomorrow. I believe that this unit can be "wired" into the bike. Does this have to be done at the dealership or is it something that is easy to do at home?

My bike is also my "company car" and so I will probably have around 35000km on the clock before the end of this year - I do around 70000km a year on my bikes - but am hoping to explore the "road less travelled" on my trips instead of the N3, N2, R102, R103 roads that are so boring now (and full of speed traps too).............
