Warranty issues.... R1200GSA Battery.......

What is the lifespan or expected life period of an original BMW GSA's battery   :xxbah:

I've got 13 400km's on the clock -   and I see that the engine's starting to struggle to turn over and the battery icon on the instrument panel is flashing on .......?

Bike is a July 2012 model - still under warranty until end July this year.....  


when not in use - the bike is connected to a BMW battery charger/maintenance unit to ensure it stays perfect (well so I thought?)
