Where/how have you mounted your GPS

I currently have a ram mount close to the left grip for my 276c on the 1200 adv. Where have you positioned your gps mount on your bike and how well does/doesn't it work? Where does it work the best?

The reason for asking is that am considering ordering the Touratech lockable mount (I think they are about $140 BEFORE SHIPPING) but it is pretty pricey and maybe there is an alternative that I have not come across.
