I'm going fricken mad trying to decide which bike to buy. Maybe you oaks can help.
At the end of the year me and two mates plan to ride from CT to Spain up the West coast. We've been planning it for ages and the time has come to buy the bike. Added to this, my experience on bikes isn't that great, although i am comfortable riding one, i have never owned a bike.
I was thinking of a KLR650 beacause of the price factor being good and from what i've read they are a proven bike for a touring ride. I've heard about there being a 'A' and a 'C' model, 'A' being the better. What do we get in SA? and what are the down sides of this bike?
My other options are KTm 640, Dakar & Xt660.
Obviously price is a factor, but i need a bike that will make the trip. I've been planning too long to break down half way by going cheaper.
