XR650L: anyone else experiencing this?

Hi guys,
It feels as if something is slipping when the rear tyre suddenly grips or when just pushing the bike a bit harder.  The 'slipping' feels quite rough though, not sure if this is normal.  Almost 5000km on the clock.  Anyone else experiencing this?
