My name is Ian... and  I have a motorcycle problem.

I arrived in Cape Town fewer than 10 days ago and managed to buy a bike before doing much else. I've now got a 1200GSA and an interest in exploring.

In order to meet some folks and get used to the new bike I'm considering doing the Country Trax intermediate course mid September* - would love to hear any thoughts about it and would love to link up with any others planning on doing it. Going up with my wife and daughter in case there are non-riding spouses making a plan.

Also, as my gear and more haven't yet arrived from the US, I'm in the market for a helmet and some gloves to hold me over for a few weeks, lightweight and cost-effective.  Any leads appreciated.

I'm also in the market for some proper boots, can be used, too - those don't need to be budget, but deals and leads are always nice.
