At 229kg about 20kg lighter fully fuelled than a R1250GS or 40kg than the Adventure

...en 80kg swaarder as my 690! :lol8:

Different bikes with a different purpose, therefor a useless comparison.

Build a sidecar they said. It will be fun they said. Ja-nee !

Exactly!
Also, can't compare the weight of a 1250 v 850.
If You're going through hell, keep going.

For my riding, this bike does it all... commute, long distance, gravel, pillion etc. Best all round bike I've ever had. And then there is that feeling.

Exactly my experience with it. Its just an easy bike that takes what you give it in comfort. Bear in mind its a tourer not a scrambler

I might finally have found the reason to sell my Varadero for next to nothing to start the savings for one of these, and have yet to read a touring/soft adventure article that does not say what a great bike this is.
1978. It's 6am, mid winter...two up on a XL 185S ... off to my first casino ever with all of R40 and we've got a full tank of fuel, so enough to get there we reckon.... that's determination...

Old bike: '82 Eddie Lawson Replica Replica.
Other bike: '05 Honda Varadero 1000
New bike: '16 Honda Africa Twin.
