I spoke to honda in CPT and the wanted R1907.45 for the shaft with a 2-3 week wait for it to come from japan. So the prices your side seem a bit high...
Ive ended up shelving the XR for now until I can afford to rebuild it, its just going to cost too much. So for now the piggy has been locked...
The bit that bothers me is boring out the barrel to 628 dosent leave very much barrel.
Correct me if im wrong but the HRC 628 kit comes with a new barrel?
Hi all
Was wondering if anyone could perhaps help me.
I'm in the process of rebuilding my XR's motor. So far I have found that it has 1.0mm overbore with a Wiseco 11:1 piston. which is all good and well but that means next overbore is 628. :ricky: hope its reliable.
Now for my question to...
Had a look on Fleabay, unfortunately no shafts. plenty of other bits tho. gonna pop round to Tim's today he may have one.
Lol BuRP :imaposer: :imaposer:
Exactly what I was thinking.
Basically the idea is to do the engine rebuild now and then later in the year motard it. :peepwall:
Don't get to do much off roading, so not to worried about stones and such , gonna mount it just in front of the engine to the left. A nice trans cooler would be...
Yeah well aware of the heat issue. Oil cooler was already in the pipeline.
Its currently got a Wiseco 603 11:1 piston which was generating more than enough heat to warrant changing the oil every month/15 hours.
So Oil cooler is high on the list of mods to do.
Haha Nic
I dont think there are any more HRC 628 kits around, as far as i know they are pretty rare, and i wouldnt have the money for it .
I have a 98 XR so should fit.
awesome, thanks Nic :)
The engine is already out of the bike for its much needed rebuild, but will use it on the new counter shaft so there's no chance of the play causing it to wear down or at least slow the process.
I am told the 650's sprocket is wider too so will be using one to spread...
Exactly why I'm keeping it  :ricky:
Worth it 100%
The big white pig will be back to kick ass :D
Its a bulletproof machine!
Cant wait to get her back up and running with a refreshed motor! Wish they still had HRC 628 kits around. But Wiseco will be taking its place and it will be...
Ive heard of a few people doing that for the final one. I reckon i could mabe even get 2 more uses from it still but eh :-\
Engine needs a top end rebuild anyway so I think I'm just going to do it properly and fork out for a new one.
No hot-cam for me yet then :'( :'(
From what I whoever...
hmm looks like Im just going to have to fork out for an original item then :(
Planning on keeping it, and figured id sort it whilst the cases are split anyway for the rebuild.
I do however hope there arnt too many worms in the can.
Thanks for the advice tho :thumleft:
