Funduro F650 Shims for valve clearances

Hello Anyone with an idea where to get shims? I have one that is slightly too high. Options are to buy from BMW and wait weeks, or have it the current shim ground down or find from somewhere else. The last time I replaced a shim I got one off an Alfa 159i Gold Edition. Super lucky and...

    Funduro Ignition Switch

Does anyone else with a Funduro have problems with the ignition switch? It is the damnest k*kest design from BMW and keeps on breaking. R2k for a new one. I need an alternative solution to the problem. Something that won't break again. (And no, don't even begin to suggest a new bike - unless...

    Funudro Read Shock

Has anyone replaced the Funduro's rear shock with a better one? I'd like to hear what other alternatives there are. I had the new one serviced 8000km ago and it's now halfway sagged after just 2 offroad trips. I am about to go on another big trip and would like to look at other alternatives.

BMW 650 Funduro Rear Brake Light Switch

    Off-Roading with expensive photography gear

Hello Everyone I have a BMW650 that I love to take on long, hard off-road adventures! On these adventures I hit ditches and bumps, carve my way through drifts and sand patches. I even drop it accidentally at times- although not very often but  it does happen and can be expected. I have...

    BMW Waterproof pants LOST

Something horrific happened to me on my way to work this morning. My side pannier blew open and my BMW waterproof pants blew out. I retraced my steps back home, but I didn't actually expect to still find it anywhere. That time of the morning the M5 past Lavender Hill is filled with pedestrians...

    Lane splitting close call

I think it was Thursday when I came through Koeberg interchange down the M5 towards the southern suburbs. The traffic was heavy as it was peak hour, so cars in both lanes were going very slow. I was carving my way through the middle, slowly and carefully with a string of bikes behind me when a...

    Riding brand new tyres

Last year, during my December holidays, I prepared for an extensive cross border, Southern African trip. One part of the preparations was a of course brand new set of tyres. At that stage I was packed, passports  and malaria tablets pocketed and everything including the helmet polished. I only...
