After an incident with our weekend ride, when one of the 990's developed a dead cell in the battery with a voltage of only 10.3 volts. This meant end of ride for the poor biker.

I then got to thinking about a solution to this problem, considering a battery does not give warning and when this happens on any fuel injected bike it is end of ride.

If you carry along a 3S, 11.1V LIPO battery (Charged it gives 12.6 volts and can handle up 60Amps) like the ones used in the Radio Controlled Helicopters. With the right connectors this could surely get you to either finish your ride or at least get you home. It is light enough to carry in your tripper or tank bag and could sort out the problem.

What do you guys think? You could even run your compressor off it if you wanted to?
