Advise on planning a trip to see the wild flowers

Hi everyone,

Ok so a year in advance, I am a self proclaimed planner. 

I am very keen to tick a huge bucket list item off my list and being a newbie I have no idea where to start planning a trip like this.

I have a year to get as many miles in the saddle and gain some much needed experience, but I really want to take a road trip to go and view the wild flowers.

Namaqua land or west coast? Time of year? How do I get the bikes down from JHB to the Cape (time unfortunately won't afford me riding them down) what do I need to consider, where to stay , what have I probably not even thought of?

Any advise, tips from anyone who has done this before?
