Bike advice needed pls.

Got invited by a family friend to go and attend Hungary grand prix in august this year, with the crazy idea to drive from Poland on the bikes. As time is getting closer the trip is becoming more involved, now we going to tour all the way to Sicily. I need to buy a bike there and my experience in all types of bikes is limited. I had a XT500 in the 80,s and now KTM990. The prices of bikes there 650’s like gs or v-strom is about R20000. The 1000cc vstrom, veradero or similar R30000. Since we going to be on tar roads soft tour would be the answer. My question is which bike is best suited for the purpose of sight seeing and touring with occasional blast on the highway. It must be comfortable for long road and many kilos. The bikes in question are used with about 20000 km on them.
