Hey guys

Friend of mine mailed this to me:

Dear Riders

Event F650 - Funduro
Date 19 - 20 May 2007
Departure Venue Donford Motorrad
Time 08h00
Destination Blesfontein Farm 20km west of Sutherland
Accommodation R290.00 p/person sharing (incl. bedding, dinner & breakfast)
Riders F650 GS or F650 Dakar Riders only

Join the F650 chain gang as they head for the hills through some of the most spectacular scenery Cape Town has to offer : Wellington, Bainskloof Pass, Wolseley, Tulbach, Mitchells Pass, Ceres (Wimpy breakfast stop), over Ouberg Pass and arriving at your final destination west of Sutherland - Blesfontein Farm. Here you will rest your weary bones for the evening.

Blesfontein comprises of three farms with some amazing territory and varying degrees of difficulty. Most of the roads are easy-riding gravel tracks so the Saturday afternoon can be spent exploring the farms and surrounding areas or we can arrange and outride. Emergency petrol is available at the farm

Dinner will be spent around a nice warm campfire (fires, braai packs and salads will be supplied by the Farm. Please note that there will be a cash bar available serving beer and wine for those of you who need to do some carbo-loading before the return ride on Sunday. The accommodation at the Farm is per person sharing so bring your ear-plugs along if you are a light sleeper!

On Sunday 20th, we will depart at 10h00 for Sutherland to fill up with petrol and prepare for the return trip. (The petrol station is open between 11h00 - 12h00). We can either do a shorter off-road ride back to Cape Town or arrange a longer ride via Middelpos and onto Ceres, depending on the weather and what we decide on the day.

Remember : this area gets really cold in the evening at this time of the year so make sure that you pack warm clothing.

Your bikes should be in good roadworthy condition, including chains, sprockets and tyres. The approximate off-road distance is between 250 - 280km and depending on the return route, we should be back in the Cape Town area around 16h00.

Please note that there is only space for 12 riders, so bookings will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.

To make your booking, please contact Mar¨ Laing at Donford Motorrad.

MarÃ?¨ will supply you with the relevant banking details and confirm your booking upon receipt of payment. Contact details : 021 888 4200; or email [email protected]
