I am venturing out on a limb here and I hope this will work. Only time will tell.
I would very much like to have a centerstand on my Dakar but the amount of offcut metal in my garage currently exceeds my cashflow, so I have decided to make one in kit form. Here is the progress so far.
The idea is to have it stored in the tooltube (also a project in progress) and then just assemble and fit it when needed. It is much shorter that it should be as it needs to fit inside the tooltube which is 310mm long. It will eventually have extendable legs but these can only be constructed once it is fitted to the bike and I can measure the required length.
Is there anyone who can assist with the length of a Dakar centerstand, or the distance from the center of the pivot to the floor whilst on the stand?
