I have a problem with my 2005 Dak in that she will idle in the garage no problem.
Take her out on the road and she will run for a while say about 6/7 km then you notice the rev counter is bouncing around at about the 6000 rpm mark then she looses power and dies.
Sometimes she will start right away and then we don't have any problems for a good couple of days. At the moment she will not start she cranks over quickly and trys to fire up but no luck.

This is what i have checked and changed.
1. Disconnected the side stand this was done in December and has been fine since.
2. Battery has been checked and i have been told it is fine - when idling the bike is charging at around 14 volts.
3. New spark plugs fitted.
4. New air filter is on order.
5. All wiring from battery cleaned and checked before putting the battery back.

The only things i have not checked.
1. Fuel filter may be dirty and blocked????
2. This is the twin spark model so i don't know how to check the spark plug caps. Do you take the plugs out and lie them next to the head and check if there is spark when cranking her over with the starter?

Any ideas out will be great.
Thanks Cachetty
